The Drive to School

Driving to school is a pain. My sister drives me to school every morning, we live about 10 minutes from the school but it takes about 25-30 minutes just to get into the school. The traffic to school is absurd and annoying. The first few days we went down Glen Road and would get stuck in the traffic as soon as we got to the bottom of the road and would be sitting there forever and once we got to the school it would still take a while just to get through all that traffic. We would have to wait in lines around every corner and I felt bad for anyone not trying to get to a school because they had to waste half their drive just sitting in school traffic. The first few days they had messed up the school start times so not only did we have to be with all the high school traffic but all the middle schoolers trying to get to school were also in our traffic.

Now we go down Edison Road and avoid all the traffic until we get to the high school, once we get there it still takes ten minutes to get into her parking spot from when we get to the school. The administration added a bunch of cones forcing everyone to go around the entire parking lot before even getting to her spot which we have to drive past but are not allowed to get to because of the cones. It is annoying that they added the cones and speed bumps because traffic once you got to the high school was better in the first week or so than it is now. The cones just force all the seniors and parents to get into the same lines and cause unnecessary waiting. The speedbumps are just pointless because almost no one is speeding through the high school parking lot and its just a nuisance to the kids who have to park right in front of them.

My sister and I do sports so we do not often have to be in the after school traffic, but it is much much worse. We can be sitting in the parking lot for 30 minutes because no car lets anyone get out and if you are at the front near the exit you might as well sprint to your car or else you will be stuck there forever. The line just fills up as quick as possible and just sits there waiting for the buses to go and waiting for traffic up at the top of the hill. If you can get out you then have to wait in a line from the high school all the way up to the top of the hill then there is even more traffic from there all the way to the light. 

The traffic at the high school is very annoying and the only way to avoid it is by going completely out of the way all the way around to get to it from West Mountain Road which takes longer and is more complicated but it is better than having to wait in a line for at least 30 minutes every day.
