Fine Line Song Review by Kylie Klinck
Here are some of my favorite Harry Styles song's that I believe everyone should listen to
(In no specific order)
1. "To Be So Lonely" is the seventh song on the Fine Line album, it is a lighter song but has a lot of meaning behind it. In this song, Harry Styles is basically backing up or explaining his side of a breakup. Putting it that way makes it sound like any generic song, but you can't even tell it's a breakup song until you goggle it or someone tells you. It does have a couple bad words so be careful if you're listening with your mother.
I didn't always love his music, I thought it was really hard to get into, just really hard to be obsessed with. I have come to adore, see what I did there, his music because of my friends love for him. "To Be So Lonely" was immediately one of my top songs on his album.2. "Golden" is the opening song on the Fine Line album, the energy of the song is just overflowing with happiness. This song is about the start of something new and the excitement that comes with that. In an interview, Harry Styles explained, “I used to drive from here to the studio and listen to it. “Golden” was like the perfect PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) song. It’s like driving down the coast, that is what the song is for. It feels so Malibu to me.” The song is really about being free, so you can interpret it however you want.
The first song I heard from the Fine Line album was "Golden" and to be honest I couldn't fully understand what he was saying. I ended up performing a tap dance to this song, and it was just like a big flashmob. After the last time I performed it I decided to learn the lyrics and now I just scream sing it in the car with my sister, it's so much fun I definitely recommend it.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this song, in my opinion, it has a different feel than others on this album. I feel like the melody of the song goes through changes, which might not even be true, but I think it adds a lot to how I took in the song. This is my second favorite on the album, I can't see how anyone could ever get sick of listening to this. It's three minutes and forty-three seconds of greatness.
5. "Cherry" is the counterpart song to "Watermelon Sugar" and it wasn't the biggest surprise on the album, fans suspected another fruit titled song before "Cherry" was released. The song is about his ex-girlfriend Camille Rowe, the song actually contains an old voicemail from a time during their relationship. It adds a lot to the song and wasn't inappropriate considering Harry and Camille were friends when he was working on the song.
This is an amazing idea for a blog!! I haven't listened to all these songs but I definitely will now!
ReplyDeleteI feel like Harry Styles is such a throwback in his music and looks!
